The search for the origin of life: From panspermia to primordial soup | Science with Sam

Did life begin suddenly in a chemical big bang, or did the ingredients come together slowly, bit by bit from a primordial soup? All we know for sure is that life on Earth began sometime between the formation of the planet 4.5 billion years ago and the oldest confirmed fossils 3.4 billion years ago, a window of 1.1 billion years. From Charles Darwin onwards, many scientists have put forward theories about how life got started. Experiments have s .

You can't get RNA and proteins folding up in just the right way by chance unless you are looking at a period that is older than the universe.

- sorry this video is kinda weak. The video could have just been called
"we dont know how life began and I will give you some example hypotheses that dont seem to work"
- The sensitivity to be able to mono-atomically build is quite a phenomenal concept.
- According to my philosophical hypothesis nature selected the protein actin as the universal architect of life as information. 'Cracking Nature's Code' explains

- YouTube’s premier hold music suggests the answer is still buffering. The God of the gaps will disappear in 3 ... 2 ...
- What is the origin of life?
First off..how about you throw your 3 dimensional science, Mr. Newton, into the trashcan where it belongs for good... and start with 4 dimensional quantum physics or forever hold your peace because a 3 dimensional shape did not come before a 4 dimensional shape and 4 dimensional physics aren't taught until physics..not science.

Now..apply some common sense. Baby step #1 What is physics? A- Laws of constants that balance natural law and order. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction except..? When?? Except when? Except when you were so inclined to make this video without me having to take action for you to do it. The difference between the living and non-living

- It is not a chicken and egg thing
The chicken came before the chicken's egg
Chicken egg shell has a specific protein, ovocledidin-17 (OC-17) which is unique to chickens. It is beneficial to the rapid production of sturdy shell material.
In the distant past a bird hatched out of an egg without this protein in the shell. This bird had mutated to produce the protein during egg production.
This bird was the first chicken as it produced OC-17 in its ovaries.
It's first egg would contain OC-17 in the shell which would qualify as the first chicken's egg.
- None of those theories hold water. The closest was the reference to black smokers, but 400 deg C is way too hot. The most likely scenario is white smokers - reaction of sea water with serpentinite - see the work of Prof Nick Lane, UCL, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEZJdK5hhvo&t=532s. Given the simplicity of the hypothesis, and the abundance of the requisite materials throughout the Universe, I would part a very large bet on their being SIMPLE single cell life throughout the Universe, including within the Solar System. Saturn's moon Enceladus is looking hopeful https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/moons/saturn-moons/enceladus/in-depth/

As far as I am concerned, I have a 95% confidence that Lane has the answer .
- Even if life came from somewhere else, we still need to know how it started there.
- unfortunate choice of music, feels like im waiting for something.
- It may be seen as controversial, but think it can now be a definite possibility that life was seeded on Earth from somewhere else. Since basic life signatures have now been confirmed In Venuses clouds (possibly seeded there by us from Russian space probes) and the famous NASA discovery where the camera on the surveyor 3 probe, that was brought back from the moon by Apollo 12's Pete Conrad and was found to have dormant, yet still living microorganisms (Streptococcus mitis), after having been on the moon for two and a half years and exposed to the moons environment, that they were easily reanimated with heat and water, confirms beyond any doubt that life can survive at the microorganism level, in space and could be transferred on objects from planet to planet.
